The MCP Athens was delivered to her owners already end of July, but had not been christened before she commenced her maiden voyage. Part of the cargo on her first trip was destined for an aluminium factory in Ayios Nicolaos near Athens, and it was therefore a most appropriate venue for the vessel to be christened!

We have the great honour to announce that on September the 15th 2008, MCP VILLACH, a 629 TEU Container vessel, was successfully delivered by Shandong Huanghai Shipbuilding Co. at 14.48lt.

On Friday the 22nd August two new MCP vessels were christened at Shandong Huanghai Shipyard in China. MCP Villach and MCP Falkenberg both gracefully accepted their names from their God mothers; Mrs. Renate Jungclaus and Mrs. Maria Nyman.
