This was a combined naming and delivery ceremony and the proud Godmother Dr. Tang Mei Ling had the honour to break the champagne bottle, which she did with great success!

The MCP Athens was delivered to her owners already end of July, but had not been christened before she commenced her maiden voyage. Part of the cargo on her first trip was destined for an aluminium factory in Ayios Nicolaos near Athens, and it was therefore a most appropriate venue for the vessel to be christened!
